A weekly self-timed 3 or 5 mile run – you choose!

Every Wednesday evening.

What time?

5.30 pm (when the church bells chimes).

What’s the route?

Starting from Wooler bus station head along High Street, across Highburn House campsite, and up to High Humbleton hamlet, then…

3 Mile Course: Continue STRAIGHT on the track until you meet St Cuthberts Way, then turn left (L) to head towards the duck ponds

5 Mile Course: Turn RIGHT (R) northwards circulating round Humbleton Hill heading up to St Cuthberts Way before turning LEFT (L) and following St Cuthberts Way to the duck ponds.

…finally, for both routes, from the duck ponds turn LEFT (L) to head along the road back towards Wooler then turn RIGHT (R) to head up into the woods, RIGHT (R) at the top of Heartbreak Hill and then LEFT (L) at the forest junction to head through and out of the woods and down to the road.

At the road, turn RIGHT (R) and follow the road back to the bus station.

What’s the terrain?

Half tarmac, half trail. Trail shoes recommended, road shoes will be fine when the weather has been dry.
